Cockatiel Training - Easy Guide How to Train Your Cockatiel Right

Two of the things that you can train your bird in cockatiel training are speaking and shoulder training. Sure, the comparison of a cockatiel speech is not going to be better than the mynahs or the parrots, but, cockatiels can be understandable. Start with short expressions or words when you do speech cockatiel training for your pet. Use words like "Morning" or "hello" or anything that is similar to the words mentioned. Make sure though that you do not introduce a new word to your bird if he has not mastered the first word yet. It may take a lot of patience to train your bird to speak but it is attainable.

Another type of cockatiel training is the shoulder training. When achieved, you will benefit from it since you will be able to do things with your hands even if your bird is outside its cage since it is sitting on your shoulder. Some birds would instantly climb on your finger then straight to your shoulder. For some, you will have to make them use to your shoulder first. In doing so, you and your pets lives will be so much simpler since it will have the luxury of getting around the house on your shoulder and you, can do a lot of things while spending time with your pet.

Just make sure that when you decide to train your bird on shoulder cockatiel training, you are cautious about the accessories and the jewelry that you are wearing since your pet can destroy them or they can be harmful to your birds for some odd reason that we do not know.

Another thing that you should be careful of when having your cockatiel trained in shoulder training is that you might not remember that your pet is on your shoulder because of its lightness and can be very dangerous and fatal for your bird. Check your shoulder once in a while to see if it is indeed there when opening your door, and most importantly when you are in the kitchen are doing something near a hot burner. Cockatiels can also be very quiet which will even be more reason enough for you to forget about it.
